The SHL-R320 is a compact portable enclosure designed to transform a compatible M.2 SSD into an external storage drive. It provides a convenient way to reuse an M.2 SSD for portable data storage, backups, file transfers, storage expansion, and system migration without installing the drive directly inside a computer. Its slim form factor makes it practical for carrying between different devices and locations.

The enclosure supports compatible M.2 SSDs using both NVMe PCIe and SATA protocols, depending on the installed drive and enclosure configuration. It is designed to accommodate common M.2 sizes including 2230, 2242, 2260, and 2280, providing compatibility with a wide range of M.2 solid-state drives. The dual-protocol design allows users to repurpose different types of M.2 drives as external storage.

Featuring a USB Type-C interface, the enclosure provides convenient connectivity with modern laptops, desktop computers, and other compatible devices. With support for transmission speeds of up to 10Gbps when used with a compatible NVMe drive and host connection, it can provide fast access to stored files. Actual performance depends on the installed SSD, connection standard, cable, and connected device.

The aluminum alloy housing provides a durable and portable enclosure while helping dissipate heat generated by the installed SSD during operation. Its compact construction makes it easy to carry, while the plug-and-play design allows a compatible SSD to be installed and used without complicated software or driver installation on supported systems.

The enclosure is suitable for a variety of everyday storage applications, including transferring large files, creating backups, accessing data from an old M.2 drive, expanding available storage, and migrating systems. It can also be used with compatible mobile devices supporting USB OTG, depending on the device and connection requirements.
