The
Waterproof Ultrasonic Speaker 25KHz 4140 Audio Mouse Repellent Bird Repellent Buzzer is a high-output, weather-sealed piezoelectric acoustic emitter engineered for ultrasonic animal deterrence, electronic bird scaring, rodent eradication, and automated perimeter protection. Tuned to a center resonant frequency of 25 kHz (with effective broadband emission spanning 20 kHz to 45 kHz), it produces intense acoustic pressure that causes extreme auditory distress to mice, rats, bats, pigeons, and nocturnal pests while remaining completely silent and non-intrusive to the human ear. Built in an enlarged 4140 form factor featuring a sealed, water-resistant aluminum radiating diaphragm and a rugged UV-resistant polymer enclosure, this transducer is built for continuous outdoor duty across agricultural fields, solar farms, industrial warehouses, and commercial rooftops.

Features
- Targeted 25kHz High-Pressure Acoustic Output: Emits high-intensity ultrasonic pressure waves directly within the peak auditory sensitivity range of rodents and birds, completely bypassing human hearing thresholds (typically ≤ 20 kHz).
- Enlarged 4140 Horn Profile: Larger 41mm radiating diaphragm delivers higher acoustic conversion efficiency and greater forward sound pressure than smaller 25mm or 38mm transducers.
- Weather-Sealed Exterior: Sealed front diaphragm and protected internal ceramic elements guard against rain droplets, morning dew, humidity, and atmospheric dust in harsh outdoor environments.
- Broad Frequency Agility: Capable of handling rapid frequency modulation, random sweep patterns, and ultrasonic warble tones between 20 kHz and 40 kHz to eliminate pest habituation.
- Capacitive Low-Power Draw: Operates as a capacitive reactive load, consuming a fraction of the current required by standard electromagnetic voice coils, making it suitable for solar-battery setups.
Common Applications
- Rooftop & Solar Panel Bird Repellers: Mounted around commercial solar arrays, factory eaves, and building parapets to prevent pigeons, seagulls, and crows from roosting and nesting.
- Subfloor & Attic Rodent Deterrents: Installed in telecom subfloors, server rooms, false ceilings, and residential attics to deter rats and mice from chewing cables.
- Agricultural & Greenhouse Protection: Protecting vegetable crops, berry farms, and grain silos against rodent invasion and avian feeding damage.
- Automotive Engine Bay Protection: Preventing rodents from entering parked vehicle engine compartments to chew on rubber hoses and wire harnesses.
- Outdoor Garden & Perimeter Stakes: Solar-powered pest deterrent spikes for lawns, orchards, and fish farms to keep out stray wildlife and bats.
Usage Tips
- Signal Generation & Driving Circuit (CRITICAL):
- Do NOT connect this unit directly to a DC power supply or battery terminal. A piezoelectric transducer functions as a capacitor; static DC voltage produces zero sound output and draws negligible current.
- Drive the speaker with an AC square wave or push-pull PWM signal (typically 22 kHz to 28 kHz) generated by an Arduino (`tone()`), ESP32 PWM, or a 555 astable multivibrator.
- To achieve the rated 100dB+ sound pressure, drive the speaker using an H-bridge driver (such as an L298N, TC4427, or dual MOSFETs) running on 12V to 24V to deliver a full 24V–48V peak-to-peak swing across the ceramic element.
- Firmware Sweep Pattern (Anti-Habituation):
- Pests quickly become accustomed to fixed, monotonous frequencies.
- Program your microcontroller to dynamically sweep across 22 kHz to 32 kHz over a 2 to 5 second period, or emit intermittent bursts with varying pulse widths to maximize behavioral deterrence.
- Acoustic Line-of-Sight & Sound Absorption:
- Ultrasound at 25 kHz behaves like directional light: it does not penetrate solid walls, ceilings, dense foliage, or glass.
- Sound reflects off hard surfaces (concrete, tiles, sheet metal) and is heavily absorbed by soft materials (carpets, cardboard, curtains). Orient the speaker face directly toward the target entry points or open airspace without obstruction.
- Mounting Angle: Although rated splashproof, install the unit with a slight downward angle (15° to 30°) under an eave or protective bracket. This ensures rainwater rolls off the aluminum cone rather than pooling inside the front cavity.
- Household Pet Safety: While 25 kHz is inaudible to adult humans, domestic pets (especially dogs, cats, pet rats, and hamsters) hear frequencies up to 45 kHz. Do not operate high-output 25 kHz emitters in living rooms or areas where household pets are kept.
