The MacBook Neo is Apple's entry-level laptop, announced in March 2026 and positioned below the MacBook Air as the most affordable Mac. Unlike every other current MacBook, it is not built around an Apple Silicon M-series chip — it uses the A18 Pro, the same 6-core CPU / 5-core GPU chip found in the iPhone 16 Pro, paired with 8GB of unified memory and a 16-core Neural Engine.
It has a 13-inch Liquid Retina display (2408 x 1506 resolution, 500 nits brightness) in a fanless aluminum enclosure made with 60% recycled content, available in Silver, Blush, Citrus, and Indigo with a color-matched keyboard. Storage is offered in 256GB or 512GB SSD options.
Battery life is rated at up to 16 hours. It includes a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, a dual-microphone array with beamforming, dual speakers with Spatial Audio, two USB-C ports, a headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 6.
