In March 2026 Apple introduced the MacBook Neo, a new entry-level notebook and the first Mac built around an A18 Pro chip -- the same chip used in the iPhone 16 Pro line -- rather than one of Apple's Mac-specific M-series chips. It sits below the MacBook Air as Apple's lowest-cost current Mac laptop.
The MacBook Neo has a 13-inch Liquid Retina display (2408 x 1506, 500 nits) with uniform, iPad-style bezels, 8GB of unified memory, and a choice of 256GB or 512GB SSD storage; this group spans listings for both storage sizes. Apple lists up to 16 hours of battery life from its 36.5-watt-hour battery. Connectivity is limited to one USB-C (USB 3) port, one USB-C (USB 2) port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 6.
