Sony PlayStation 5 Pro

The PlayStation 5 Pro is a higher-performance revision of the PS5 console, released worldwide on November 7, 2024. It ships with a 2TB internal SSD and does not include a disc drive; an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive can be attached separately for physical media and 4K UHD video playback.

Compared with the base PS5, the Pro model's GPU has 67% more compute units and roughly 28% faster memory, giving higher and steadier frame rates and ray tracing that Sony describes as two to three times faster than the base console. It also introduces PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), an AI-based upscaling system, and supports Wi-Fi 7 in territories where the standard is available.

The console has been sold under several region-specific model numbers within the CFI-7000 family, including CFI-7021 and CFI-7002. A later hardware revision carrying the CFI-7121 model number began appearing from 2025 onward, reported as a components/efficiency update rather than a change to storage capacity or disc-drive support.
