MacBook Neo is Apple's entry-level laptop, announced March 4, 2026 and released March 11, 2026. It is positioned below the MacBook Air and is the first Mac to use an A-series chip (the same class used in iPhone) rather than an M-series chip.
It is powered by the Apple A18 Pro chip with a 6-core CPU (2 performance cores + 4 efficiency cores) and a 5-core GPU, alongside a 16-core Neural Engine. Memory is a fixed 8GB unified LPDDR5X; this configuration includes a 256GB SSD (a 512GB SSD option is also offered on other configurations).
It has a 13-inch Liquid Retina display (2408x1506, 219 ppi, 500 nits) using the sRGB color space rather than the wide-P3 gamut found on MacBook Air. The fanless aluminum enclosure omits the backlit keyboard and Force Touch trackpad found on MacBook Air, and includes two USB-C ports (one supporting USB 3/DisplayPort, one USB 2), a 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 6. It is available in Silver, Blush, Citrus, and Indigo.
